Obliterators (oblong marks)
The first postmarks of the INLAND Post Office were oblong marks of three top horizontal lines
and four bottom lines, with two vertical lines on each side, normally enclosing the
Parish Post Office Numbers 2, 3, 4, 1 O and 11 . Parish numbers 1, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 have the bars inverted.
These obliterators were in use from 1852 to 1863.
